MIND MAP: OPEN CALL

Deadline: 10 January 2025

Mind Map is a flagship initiative by Studio Shunno, dedicated to fostering creative exploration and innovation within the realm of graphic arts. This project serves as a vibrant platform where artists come together to experiment, collaborate, and transcend the boundaries of visual expression. It is a space for shared creativity, pushing the possibilities of printmaking and graphic techniques to new horizons.

Mind Map symbolizes the convergence of ideas, creativity, and perspectives, much like a visual diagram that organizes and connects thoughts. Rooted in the realm of printmaking and graphic techniques, it reflects the initiative’s core philosophy of mapping artistic journeys through collaborative exploration and individual expression in these mediums.

Printmaking and graphic arts are inherently process-oriented, requiring precision, experimentation, and a deep understanding of technique. Mind Map draws on these characteristics, emphasizing the interconnectedness between artists, methods, styles, and ideas. Just as a mind map organizes complex information into a cohesive structure, this initiative creates a space where printmakers and graphic artists can explore, innovate, and push the boundaries of their practice within a collaborative framework.

Concept
The term Mind Map symbolizes the interconnectedness of ideas, creativity, and perspectives. Just as a mind map visually organizes thoughts and concepts, this initiative seeks to map artistic endeavors within a collaborative framework. The project encourages participants to delve into graphic art, exploring techniques, narratives, and styles that resonate with their personal vision while contributing to a shared creative dialogue.
