ABOUT US

Shunno is an artist-run studio working independently as a cultural junction. Since its inception in 2005, Shunno starts as a printmaking studio facilitating the creative community, however, in 2017, its priority widened to host community engagement programs involving people from all walks of life in the creative act.

This pedagogical activity runs in single or several sessions with small or large groups that begin with introducing theoretical and historical notions around creativity. Practical exercises integrated into in-class discussions occur through interactions. We also host shows, talks, or events to interact. An evening cafe fosters guests to hang around with family or friends in a creative climate.

It irrigates inspiration into creating creative skills in the general people in an unconventional way. We believe everybody can present creative ideas and communicate the benefits. And this unique venture that seeks to take the entire forum of creative-minded people (including children) and art lovers living outside the mainstream circuit, in areas dubbed as backwaters, will help open a new horizon of possibilities.

Besides working with established print makers and multidisciplinary practitioners, Shunno also extends its collaboration through Chalantika with connoisseurs and art professionals, including writers and critics who serve as knowledge disseminators. We are ready to share our model as a case study with other networks to research, exchange resources, and collaborate with experts.
