Out of School

Shunno’s Out of School Program is designed to introduce students to an immersive art-learning experience beyond the boundaries of their regular classroom. The program consisted of a three-day printmaking course involving students from three different classes, allowing them to engage with artistic processes in a focused and structured manner. Conducted in a professional art studio environment, the sessions exposed students to new tools, techniques, and ways of thinking that are rarely available within a conventional school setting. School teachers were present throughout the classes, ensuring continuity with the students’ academic learning while also observing alternative pedagogical approaches through art. The change of environment played a crucial role in expanding the students’ curiosity, confidence, and sense of independence. Working in a studio setting encouraged experimentation, collaboration, and attentive engagement, making the learning process both memorable and meaningful. At the conclusion of the program, certificates were awarded to the students in recognition of their participation and creative effort, marking the experience as a significant milestone in their educational journey and a lasting memory of learning through art.
